Rule NO 31:- Optetive Sentence যুক্ত direct narration কে Indirect করার নিয়ম।-
1) Reporting verb এর subject এর পরে wish/wished, Pray prayed বসে এর পর object বসে।
2) Inverted comma কে তুলিয়া দিয়া that বসাতে হয় এর পর reported speech এর subject বসে might বসাতে হয়।
3) Might এর পরে reported speech এর verb এবং object বসে।
- Example: –
- Di: The teacher said to me, “May you pass the examination.”
- In: The teacher wished prayed me that I might pass the examination.
- Di: He said to me, “May Allah blesses you.”
- In: He prayed to me that Allah might bless me.
- Di: I said to the boy, “May you be happy.”
- In: I prayed to the boy that he might be happy.
- Di: The man said to me, “May Allah fill the hope of your mind.”
- In: The man prayed to me that Allah might fill the hope of your mind.
- Di: The pious man said to me, “May you live long.”
- In: The pious man prayed to me that I might live long.
- Di: The girl said to the boy, “may you befriend the girl.”
- In: The girl wished the boy that he might befriend the girl.
Rule NO 32:- Exclamatory sentence যুক্ত direct narration কে indirect narration করার নিয়ম।
1) Reporting Verb এর Subject এর পরে Exclaimed with joy/Exclaimed with sorrow দিয়ে শুরু করতে হয়।
2) Inverted comma কে তুলিয়া দিয়ে that বসাতে হয়।
3) Reported speech এর Verb থেকে শুরু করে শেষ পরযন্ত হবে।
- Example:-
- Di: He said, “Hurrah! Our team has won the game.”
- In: He exclaimed with joy that their team had won the game.
N.B:- এই ধরনের narration গুলি যদি pleasur express করে তাহলে exclaimed with joy হয়।আর যদি pain/sorrow express করে তাহলে exclaimed with sorrow.
- Di: He said, “Alas! I am undone.”
- In: He exclaimed with sorrow that he was undone.
- Di: The boy said, “Alas! My father died yesterday.”
- In: The boy exclaimed with sorrow that his father had died the previous day.
- Di: The boy said, “Alas! The girl does not love me.”
- In: The boy exclaimed with sorrow that the girl does not love him.
